“While painting I have no limits. I love to experiment to find out how mixed materials match. I try to convey my thoughts and emotions on the canvas, which can be a struggle but it’s always a challenge. Just like in life, this is the base to discover new perspectives.”
Quote Conor Oberst:
“Art is essentially communication. It doesn’t exist in a vacuum. That’s why people make art, so other people can relate to it.”
The paintings of Léonce Lemmens mostly are made up of dozens of layers. Applied paint gets removed again, after which new layers are created with new elements and colors. It’s a playful and inquisitive process, resulting in abstract expressionist art pieces that tell a story every time.
